Faithful Rated R · 91 minutes Academy Award®-winner Cher stars as Margaret O’Donnell, a woman intent on taking her own life on her twentieth wedding anniversary. Her plans are thwarted by Tony (Chazz Palminteri), a hit man hired to kill her by her philandering husband (Ryan O’Neal). In this dark comedy, Margaret tries to outwit her captor, plots revenge and rediscovers happiness in the most unlikely of scenarios. Full of plot twists and turns, Faithful was written by Chazz Palminteri, based on his own stage play, and co-produced by Robert DeNiro. Head Above Water Rated PG-13 · 92 minutes In this comedy of errors, Cameron Diaz stars as Nathalie, who vacations with her husband George (Harvey Keitel) on a near-deserted island. Everything goes downhill when the arrival of Nathalie’s ex-lover Kent (Billy Zane, Titanic, Critters) leads to misunderstanding, mischief and murder. This darkly comic thriller is directed and produced by award winning filmmaker Jim Wilson (Dances With Wolves, The Bodyguard) and also stars Craig Sheffer (A River Runs Through It, TV’s One Tree Hill). Heart Condition Rated R · 100 minutes Bob Hoskins and Denzel Washington star in this high-spirited comedy about a massive change of heart. Moony (Hoskins) is a bigoted, out of shape cop in love with Crystal, a hooker with a heart of gold. Crystal winds up leaving Moony for the slick urban lawyer who defends her, Napoleon Stone (Washington). When Moony has a heart attack and receives the heart of the recently deceased Stone, the two become closer than they ever thought possible. Stone now haunts Moony, forcing him to take better care of himself and his new heart -- as well as hounding him to solve Stone’s murder. National Lampoon’s Senior Trip Rated R · 91 minutes The National Lampoon franchise (Animal House, Vacation) continues its tradition of irreverent comedy in National Lampoon’s Senior Trip. While serving detention, a diverse group of students is assigned to write a letter to the President explaining what is wrong with the current education system. When the President actually reads it – and responds positively – a school trip to Washington is planned. Along the way, this wild group – consisting of a drug-addled bus driver (Tommy Chong, Up in Smoke, TV’s That 70’s Show), a pathetic principal (Matt Frewer, TV’s Taken, TV’s Max Headroom), the class valedictorian (Fiona Loewi, Love and Death on Long Island), the class underachiever (Jeremy Renner, S.W.A.T.), the Star Trek geek, er…fan (Kevin McDonald, The Kids in the Hall) and the usual assortment of class clowns – meets all kinds of trouble. |
