Los Angeles, CA (June 2, 2003) New Line Home Entertainment today announced the release of A Man Apart, an action-filled thriller starring internationally-acclaimed superstar Vin Diesel and rising young actor Larenz Tate. In this gripping film, Vin Diesel stars as a DEA agent on a deadly vendetta to take down the powerful drug cartel that killed his wife. A Man Apart is available to rent or own on DVD for $27.98 and VHS for $22.99 on September 2, 2003.

DVD Features and Content
The A Man Apart DVD features widescreen (2:35:1) and fullscreen versions of the film, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, Stereo Surround Sound, English subtitles and closed captions. The DVD also includes seven deleted scenes, the theatrical trailer and trailers from other New Line Home Entertainment films.

A Thrilling Cast and Crew
In addition to Diesel (XXX, The Fast and the Furious) and Tate (Biker Boyz, Menace II Society), the film features Timothy Olyphant (Dreamcatcher, Rock Star), Jacqueline Obradors (TV’s “NYPD Blue,” Deuce Bigelow, Male Gigolo), Geno Silva (Scarface, Amistad), Juan Fernandez (Salvador) and Steve Eastin (Con Air). A Man Apart is directed by F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job, Set it Off).

Non-stop Explosive Action
Sean Vetter (Diesel) and Demetrius Hicks (Tate) grew up on the mean streets of Los Angeles but now work together as DEA agents, fighting a seven-year war to stem the virulent drug pipeline along the US/ Mexico border. Their perseverance pays off when they take down notorious Baja Cartel kingpin Memo Lucero (Geno Silva). With Lucero in a maximum-security prison, Vetter is finally able to go home to his wife, Stacey (Jacqueline Obradors). But in the wake of Lucero’s arrest, mysterious figure, known only as Diablo, emerges to claim the Baja Cartel. And when Vetter and Hicks set their sights on stopping this dangerous new player, Diablo makes the fight personal, taking the life of Vetter’s wife Stacey. With nothing to lose, Vetter will do anything to bring Diablo down, including an unlikely alliance with the jailed Lucero.
