Los Angeles, CA (December 10, 2001) New Line Home Entertainment today announced the release of Bones, a horror-thriller starring rapper turned actor Snoop Dogg in his first lead role. In this hip and stylish film, notorious street hustler Jimmy Bones (Snoop Dogg) is inadvertently brought back from the dead and seeks revenge on those who killed him over twenty years ago. Bones is available for rental on VHS and Platinum Series™ DVD, and for sale on Platinum Series™ DVD for $24.98 on February 26, 2002. DVD and VHS Offers Frightening Features and Extra Content The Bones Platinum Series™ DVD features the widescreen version of the film, Dolby Digital EX 5.1 Surround Sound, DTS ES 6.1 Surround Sound, Stereo Surround Sound, a feature-length commentary with Director Ernest Dickerson, Snoop Dogg and Screenwriter Adam Simon, English subtitles and closed captions. The DVD also includes deleted scenes, two documentaries "Digging Up Bones," and "Urban Gothic: Bones and its Influences," the theatrical trailer, animated menus and two versions of the music video, "A Dogg Named Snoop" performed by Snoop Dogg. The DVD-ROM content includes the "Script-to-Screen" screenplay feature as well as a link to the original website. Vengeance Is Unleashed In 1979, Jimmy Bones, a legendary protector and patron of his thriving urban neighborhood is betrayed and murdered by those closest to him. Flash forward to the present day. The once elegant brownstone where Bones lived has become an abandoned memorial to him. It is well known that strange happenings surround the house, and those who are foolish enough to enter often don't come out. The sons of Jeremiah (Clifton Powell) one of those who betrayed Bones, move into the house, unaware of the danger. Once they arrive, a series of strange and unexplainable events begin to take place, and it becomes clear that Jimmy Bones is staging a comeback, hell-bent on revenge.
