Los Angeles (May 13, 2002) New Line Home Entertainment today announced the release of some of their biggest family titles to DVD for the first time at the low price of $14.94 on September 3, 2002. Monkey Trouble, about a mischievous monkey on a crime spree, stars Thora Birch and Harvey Keitel. Surf Ninjas stars Rob Schneider and Leslie Nielsen and features surfing and martial arts action from the rest of its youthful cast. Mr. Nanny and Suburban Commando both feature WWF superstar Hulk Hogan. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and 3 feature more adventures in the extremely successful series of those ninja-fighting, pizza loving turtles. The Little Vampire starring Jonathon Lipnicki and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, already available on DVD, are also priced at $14.98. All of these films for the family are also available on VHS. All six new family DVDs will feature its own unique version of the film trivia game, “Pick that Flick.” A random image from one of thirteen New Line family films will be shown on the screen and the user must pick the film in which that image can be found. The images will pop up in random order and are consistently shuffled for each replay of the game, so it is a different game each time. Each of the games will be themed by design and audio sounds to one of the particular six DVD titles on which it is featured, but all thirteen family films are potential answers for “Pick that Flick.” An ad will be placed in the October issue of Sports Illustrated for Kids to create awareness for parents and kids that these family favorites are now available on DVD at a great low price. |

Monkey Trouble- Dodger is the pet monkey that belongs to a crooked street performer (Harvey Keitel, The Piano) but escapes his life of crime only to end up in the arms of Eva (Thora Birch, American Beauty, Dungeons & Dragons), an innocent little girl whose mother (Mimi Rogers, Lost in Space) has no idea that her daughter is harboring a fugitive. Unfortunately, Dodger’s naughty habits get the best of him as his mischief plunges everyone he meets into major Monkey Trouble. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2- The turtles are up to their shells in trouble when a canister of toxic ooze falls into the hands of the evil Master Shredder. Aided by their new pal Keno, the pizza delivery boy, the Turtles take on Shredder and his mutant allies, Rahzar and Tokka, to capture and destroy the dangerous ooze and make the world safe again for Turtles, humans and pizza! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3- America’s most awesome amphibians are back and this time they’re history in this motion picture adventure. When a magic scepter accidentally transports April back through time to 17th century Japan, the turtles takeoff in hot pursuit, cowabunging their way out of the sewers right into Samurai-O-Rama! Now they must battle the evil Lord Norinaga to reclaim the magic scepter that will bring them back below the subways of New York City. So join the heroes in the half-shell in a totally turtle-rific trip through time. Surf Ninjas- Life is a beach for laid back California surf-teens Johnny (Ernie Reyes, Jr., Rush Hour 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Adam (Nicolas Cowan) – until the two brothers discover they’re actually long-lost princes of a South Sea island paradise! Unfortunately, between the boys and their destiny stands the island’s demented tyrant: Colonel Chi (Leslie Nielsen, The Naked Gun), half man, half machine, all bad. With the help of some oddball allies – and some very cool ancient magic – the two brothers are transformed from mere surfers into way-awesome ninja super-dudes! This fantasy-adventure also stars Rob Schneider (The Animal, Big Daddy) and Kelly Hu (The Scorpion King). Mr. Nanny- Thinking his manager (Sherman Hemsley, TV’s “The Jeffersons”) has found him a bodyguard job, former pro-wrestler Sean Armstrong (Hulk Hogan, Rocky III, Suburban Commando) is horrified to learn he’s been hired to watch over two nanny-hating kids. But even more dangerous than the kids’ Home Alone-style booby traps is the top-secret Peacekeeper ray-gun invented by the kids’ genius father (Austin Pendleton, A Beautiful Mind). It’s sheer household hilarity as the children and their behemoth babysitter team up to thwart the villain, save the world and learn some heartwarming lessons about friendship in this uproarious, laugh-packed action-comedy. Suburban Commando- Hulk Hogan (Rocky III, Mr. Nanny) is Shep Ramsey, a valiant galactic warrior temporarily stranded on earth, living with a mild-mannered architect and his wife (Christopher Lloyd, My Favorite Martian, Back to the Future and Shelley Duvall, Home Fries, TV's "Roxanne") and two children. Shep’s efforts to adapt to suburban life are hilariously unsuccessful, and relations with the neighbors soon reach crisis proportion. But when his evil nemesis from across the universe tracks him to his backyard bungalow, Shep needs all the help from earthlings he can get – even from his bumbling landlord! The Little Vampire- The story of an American boy (Jonathan Lipnicki, Stuart Little, Jerry Maguire) who moves with his family to the sprawling Scottish countryside, where he makes friends with a family of vampires whose lasting wish is to become human. Also starring Richard E. Grant (Gosford Park, Portrait of a Lady), Jim Carter (101 Dalmatians, Shakespeare in Love), and Alice Krige (Chariots of Fire, Star Trek: First Contact). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- After wading in a puddle of radioactive waste, these radical reptiles are transformed into New York City’s greatest crime-fighting quartet. Along with April, a television reporter, these crime-fighting turtles take on the newest threat to New York, a secret organization led by The Shredder of ninja-trained thieves. When the turtles ninja master, the four-foot tall rat Splinter, is “rat-napped” by the organization, the turtles will stop at nothing to get him back and save the city. With loads of martial arts action, humor and camaraderie, these turtles are out to have a cowbunga good time. |
