Los Angeles (July 14, 2003) The terror returns…but now its on DVD as Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 is released on Platinum Series DVD for the first time for $24.98 from New Line Home Entertainment on September 30. Starring Viggo Mortensen in one of his first feature film roles, the terrifying film continues the story of Leatherface and his cannibalistic family. Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 is currently available on VHS.

The DVD features include two original unrated documentaries, The Saw is the Family: The Making of Leatherface that looks at the process of what went right…and wrong in making this sequel to the successful cult original, and a deleted scenes documentary that looks at what was cut from the film and why as well as an alternate ending. Also included on the DVD is filmmaker commentary featuring Director Jeff Burr, Screenwriter David J. Schow, Greg Nicotero of KNB EFX, New Line Production Executive Mark Ordesky, and Stars William Butler and R.A. Mihailoff . The DVD features a widescreen (1:85.1) version of the film with Dolby Digital EX 5.1 Surround Sound, DTS ES 6.1 Surround Sound, Stereo Surround Sound, the original theatrical trailer, English subtitles, closed captions, the original theatrical trailer, animated menus along with trailers for other New Line Cinema films. The DVD-ROM content includes “Script-to-Screen” with selected storyboards, a production schedule gallery and a sound bite machine.

Along with Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings), the film stars Tom Everett (XXX, Pearl Harbor), Kate Hodge (Rapid Fire), and horror movie staples William Butler (Night of the Living Dead, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood) and Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead).
