LOS ANGELES, CA (March 21, 2005) – The hit television series that launched the career of big-screen legend Steve McQueen (Bullitt, The Getaway, The Thomas Crown Affair) in 1958 makes its DVD debut on June 7, 2005, from New Line Home Entertainment. The four-disc DVD set includes all 36 episodes from the first season with extras including a six-part documentary about Steve McQueen (titled Life in the Fast Lane), three colorized episodes, featurettes about the series, photo galleries, bios and more. Wanted: Dead or Alive is available at a $39.98 SRP. Wanted: Dead or Alive ran for three seasons on CBS and launched Steve McQueen’s career as gentleman bounty hunter Josh Randall. The character, originally introduced in an episode of the television Western Trackdown, was so popular that the production company created Wanted: Dead or Alive so that McQueen could reprise the role of Randall. “Steve McQueen fans – and fans of classic television – will revel in this 36-episode box set of wild west action that created a Hollywood legend,” said Justine Brody, senior vice president of marketing, New Line Home Entertainment. “Offering in-depth special features and a chance to see the early work of such Hollywood luminaries as James Coburn, Mary Tyler Moore, Cloris Leachman and Michael Landon, the Wanted: Dead or Alive DVD set provides viewers with their own piece of entertainment history.” |

SYNOPSIS Josh Randall was not a typical rough-hewn bounty hunter of the Old West; he was a consummate gentleman who always gave half – or even all – of his reward money to charity. He was a man of few words, and, unlike most bounty hunters, he carried neither a shotgun nor a rifle but rather an 1892 Winchester lever action pistol, which he wore on his belt and fondly called his “Mare’s leg.” Josh Randall’s catch phrase, “Let’s go,” launched him into unforgettable, classic Western adventures.
